Why Use This Pomodoro Timer?
People reach for this tool for deep work sessions without clock-watching, spreading study time across a whole evening, and keeping breaks honest at five minutes. It loads instantly, works on phones, tablets, and computers, and needs no account or installation.
Everything runs locally in your browser — there is no server to trust with your data and nothing to configure. Open the page and the tool is ready.
Presets and Custom Durations
Common durations are one tap away as preset buttons. Need something else? Enter an exact duration and start the countdown immediately.
When the countdown ends you get a clear beep, and you can restart the same duration with a single tap on Reset.
Why four rounds, and what to do after
The classic Pomodoro cycle is four focus blocks with short breaks between, then one long break of 15-30 minutes. Two hours all-in, roughly 100 minutes of actual work. That sizing is deliberate: it fits a morning or an evening session, it is long enough for a task to show real progress, and it ends before the quality of attention visibly decays. After the fourth round, stand up and leave the screen — the long break is for the eyes and the back, not for a different screen.
The structure also self-corrects the common Pomodoro failure: breaking the break. A 5-minute pause spent 'just checking' one message is not a break, and the next focus block starts already taxed. Running the cycle on a visible timer with distinct beeps — this page uses a lower tone for focus ending, a higher one for break ending — keeps the rhythm mechanical instead of aspirational.
